Easter Stages 2013

The Ulster Automobile Club (UAC) has announced plans for an Easter rally, which will feature as Round 2 of the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship and Round 3 of the Northern Ireland Stage Rally Championship.

Lisburn and Ballynahinch will be the anchor towns for the one-day event, which will cover twelve stages over a lengthy 100 competitive miles within the counties of Down and Antrim on Easter Saturday, 30th March 2013.

Over 100 national and international competitors are expected to take part in the event, which will delight rally fans throughout Ireland who turn out in their thousands each Easter to enjoy a rally spectacle.

The rally will start in Lisburn City Centre at 9.30am with the ‘ceremonial start’ that will see cars leaving Bow Street at regular intervals until around 11.30am.

The rally will conclude in Ballynahinch that evening with cars expected to arrive from 5.45pm onwards.

The finish podium and customary spraying of champagne by the winners, will take place in the town centre at Market Square.

Circuit of Ireland is NOT cancelled

In relation to today’s press release regarding the International Circuit of Ireland not running in 2013, the UAC would like to stress that this decision only affects the International section of the rally.

THE CIRCUIT OF IRELAND WILL RUN, as it has for many years in conjunction with the International Rally, as a National rally and we will deliver the same high standard of event that has been seen in recent years.
We thank our organising team for their continued support, and look forward to a safe and successful Easter weekend.

Statement on the cancellation of UAC October Sprint

It was unfortunate that our October Sprint due to be held on the 20 October had to be cancelled due to flooding at Kirkistown.

A replacement event on the 17 November could not take place as Larne Motor Club, who have a Lanes Rally on that date, would not give us permission to run a championship sprint on the same day.

Our apologies to all who entered and we can confirm that all cheques have been shredded and no credit card amounts have been taken.

October Sprint: Cancelled

October Sprint 2012 Cancelled!

The UAC regret to inform you that the October Sprint at Kirkistown has been cancelled due to severe flooding at the Kirkistown circuit.

The flood which appeared yesterday had not reduced by 3.00pm this afternoon and the decision to cancel was then taken. There was a good entry of 54 cars. It is hoped that an alternative date in November can be arranged.

October Sprint – Update for Saturday along with Final Instructions and Provisional Entry List

The Ulster Automobile Club’s Sprint on 20 October will use a new course at the Kirkistown Race Circuit.

Due to the possibility of flooding on the lower part of the track the MSA has sanctioned a new layout on

the top section only which will comprise approx 2.5 laps due to the new lap being shorter than the long

course originally proposed.

Scrutineering commences at 08.30 hours with practice from 10.00 hours while the first timed runs start at

13.00 hours.

This is the final round of the 2012 S W Adair ANICC Sprint Championship.

Clerk of the Course, Nicholas Ward stated: “We are looking forward to an exciting finale to the

2012 championship and with the new coursae it will be interesting to see how the competitors deal with it.

More marshals are still required and we need them to sign-on between 08.30 hours and 09.30 hours.

All signed-on marshals will receive a free lunch.”
